“Only by joy and sorrow does a person know anything about themselves and their destiny. They learn what to do and what to avoid.” Goethe

Ray Peat Insight explores Dr. Ray Peat’s work beyond nutrition. Societal influence leaves its mark on all of us in various ways. If healing is to be pursued in terms of a wholeness that is other than the sum of its parts, a close examination of the culture and its effects is worthwhile.

We need to remember awareness doesn’t always come with benevolent intentions. People can use awareness to try to influence, sound smart, spread their misery, or make excuses for their own lack of action in their lives. However, awareness coming from those with wisdom and knowledge based on experience can be protective as well as informative.

What we allow to impact our perception of life in any given moment needs to fit with our individual values and peace of mind. We have more than just our intellect to weigh the worthiness of an idea, we can check in with our felt sense as well. Each person can be their own guru.

Big thanks to Dr. Peat for all his work and time.
